The product must be at least 75% efficient.

Both the product and installation costs can be included in your total cost. This includes venting and related materials, on-site labor, etc. This means more money for you!

Your final invoice. This will show the total cost of the project, including the product and installation.

The manufacturer’s certificate. This will verify that your product is at least 75% efficient. This comes with your unit, so be sure to keep it!

The credit must be claimed on your federal income tax form.

Filing online? The form will be in the credits section of the federal portion under “Home Ownership and Residential Energy Credit.”

Filing via US Mail? Claim the credit on form 5695 under “Residential Energy Efficient Property Credits.”
